Consumers are currently being denied information about meat products being sold in Western Australia according to the Federal Member for Cowan, Luke Simpkins MP.In a speech to the Federal Parliament today Mr Simpkins expressed his concerns that a large volume of meat sold in Western Australia isn’t being identified as Halal on the product label.
“I investigated in my electorate and in Western Australia finding that almost every animal, apart from pigs, are killed in accordance with the Islamic religion requirements known as Halal,” Mr Simpkins said.
“So when you go to Coles, Woolworths or IGA, or other supermarkets, you cannot then purchase the meat for your Aussie BBQ without the influence of this minority religion,” said Mr Simpkins. “You have no choice and almost no Australians are aware of this because meat is not labelled.”
“The reality is that almost all meat sold in WA is Halal and people shouldn’t have any religious practice imposed upon them without their knowledge. Labelling will allow consumers to have a choice,” concluded Mr Simpkins.
You could seriously not write parody or satire this good.

Correct me if I am wrong Mark but doesn't "Halal" mean that the animal was killed by an islamic dark priest while facing Mecca, with the carcus then having a muslim curse put on it? If this is the case (and I believe it is), I think Luke Simpkins raises a good point!

Just to think of all those poor Aussies out there eating their $2 woolworths sausages made from ground cow arsehole and not knowing that the meat passes as halal! It's just farkin unaustrayan carnt!

When meat is produced from a Halal cow it means the cow was originally conceived divinely by God himself in the form of a bull so you are actually eating a piece of God/Holy Cow. The farmers love it because they don't have to keep bulls around as God just shows up as a bull and does all the work himself anywhere somebody wants a Halal cow to be made. It's a practice that is saving the economy and keeping Aussie jobs secure for local farmers who have their photo taken for the inside of McDonalds Quarter Pounder burger wrappers/boxes.
